Why is Everything Online?
Before this semester started I had to finish up on preparing things. These things include signing up for a meal plan and getting health insurance through the school. I live two towns away and I was doing other things at the time such as getting textbooks. Seeing as I cimmute to this camous anyways I do not particularly mind, however one thing did bother me that day. Everything is online nowadays. This would be fine, except it eliminates human interaction. I got my first meal plan this year and my mother went with me to checkout pricing options and what is included with each one. She saw the chart and understood it, but when we finally wanted to make our decision we could not do that. We had to do it online. Online is helpful for those who cannot go to the school on aregular basis which is fine. But why could I not sign up for my meal plan right then and there? It is easier to do somethinglike this with human interaction when we can talk to one or another, understand each others clarity, and ask questions. I had a similar issue when I tried setting up my health insurance for both semesters. I could not do it in person even though I was already there. Why can I not do this on campus here when I can ask questions and understand the person clearly. These proceses made it tedious to sign up for things that I should be able to do there. I feel as though some of the offices within buildings are only there to tell you to go online. That is certainly how I feel. The online services can have issues, but they can also be good. But I would like the option to get my business done with face-to-face communication.
