Abortion is perhaps one of the most controversial issues in The United States. Everyone has various opinions and beliefs on abortion, which is fine. But these are not getting anywhere. I'll just say I believe abortion is a fine and acceptable thing to do. But that is not what this post is about. I believe it is time to make a stand and let people vote on rules and regulations on getting abortion. If there are rules currently, they are not well known and might be confusing. I know I get confused with the legal issues when it comes to abortion. If this becomes more widespread, then things can change. I have no idea where there are any abortion clinics in Massachusetts if there are any.
We recently had a presidential election along with three questions. I feel as if abortion should have been one of the questions. It is a controversial issue that needs closure. The people can decide as to whether or not if it is right, if it should be allowed, if it should be regulated. Things like this are important. We the people have the power to choose and make change. But no one is giving us the ability to vote. I have seen petitions about abortions a few times. And thinking about this issue I think of an episode of Family Guy where abortion is the main theme of the episode. It becomes about whther or not it is right or wrong. Disputes among the family members. But that is all it was in the episode and that is all it ever is in reality. Amongst many issues in this country and should be higher on the list. Along with the various arguments of "What if a woman is raped?" or "When is the fetus considered living?" These are appropriate questions to ask. But it is not enough anymore. If we have the power to make change, why aren't we given the oppurtunity. This won't get resolved if we cannot even have a say.
