Verizon Wireless and Their Evil Ways
I used to believe that Verizon Wireless was a company that cared about the customers they have. That feeling has changed. The company could not care less about the customer and actually helping them out. Almost everyone has or has had a cellphone. Phones are built cheaply. So problems should be expected. But Verizon should fix the problems. In order for them to do this, the person needs insurance on the phone. I have been told this twice from attempting to get help. The first time I went in, I asked if they had any back covers for my phone because mine fell off and I lost it. They said they could not do anything to fix the issue because I didn't have insurance on the phone. I let it go after awhile. But a more serious problem happens with my phone. Occasionally it will turn off for no reason. My phone also thinks it charging when it actually is not. I see these as serious issues if it effects the phones functioning. I go in for assistance, and they told me again I need insurance. I'm sorry, but I do not understand why plastic devices need insurance. Automobiles are different. Automobiles have moving parts that need to be fixed, especially after a car accident. Phones for the most part have either one moving part or none at all. Phones are plastic cars are many different materials in one. People should not have to pay extra to fix plastic unless it's serious unrepairable damage that is caused by you. Now Verizon fios which is the division that handles cable television, they are helpful. I had a cable box that did not work. I went to a Verizon fios store. I told them what was wrong. No questions asked they took it back gave me a new one and instructed me on how to set it up. That is true customer service. I'm not sure how the same company just different divisions have different outcomes with customer service. But something needs to change with Verizon Wireless. Has anyone else had issues with Verizon Wireless or a similar issue with another phone company?

You had two different customer experiences because you were engaged inn two different commercial activities.
ReplyDeleteVerizon Wireless does not care whether your cellphone works because they do not own the phone -- you do. They would be quite happy if you cancelled your service because they would undoubtably collect an early cancellation fee. Meaning, they would get just as much money from you, without you sucking up their cell and data bandwidth.
Verizon FIOS does care about whether your cable box works because it is their property. This is why you have to give it back to them when you terminate your service. Instead of rejoicing if you cancel your service, they are concerned about unhappy taxpaying citizens complaining to your town's Cable Commission. Because the more complaints in their docket, the more they have to pay to renew their license.
All telecommunications companies are "Confusopolies" -- a term coined by Scott Adams to describe an industry which does not attempt to compete with each other by competing on price or performance or service. Instead, they intentionally confuse customers with a bewildering array of service plans and options so that customers give up on trying to make an informed choice.
