The matter of who you vote for is not my concern. It
is important to get out there and vote. I am frankly sick of all the political
banter, and conversations about the election. Just last night I got into an
argument with friends who said they were turned off from the political world
because of obnoxious people like me. This might have been slightly warranted,
as I interrupted someone, as they said, “Romney might not do that if he was in
office…”, and said “well, you don’t have to worry about that because he won’t
be getting the chance”. This probably wasn’t necessary, but at least I have an
opinion, went through the steps for an absentee ballot, and checked off the
little boxes weeks ago. I think having an opinion is the most important part of
voting and being a good citizen.
Voting is a privilege, and everyone should take
advantage of this, no matter who they believe is best for the job. It took many
years in our country, for everyone to get the right to vote, and not exercising
this right seems like a waste. Not voting is a slap in the face to people in
other countries, where voting does not take place, like in many Middle Eastern
counties. There are many people who would love to have this chance that we
have, so we should not take this right for granted.
I agree voting is important. I myself just went to vote today for the first time. Also I am sick of hearing about the election and can't wait for it to be over. The fact that I know of people that are not voting makes me mad because it is everyone's right to vote so they should use it and not let it go to waste.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree. During every election, whether it's friends, family, people on Facebook, or complete strangers preaching how they feel and what they think is right. However, they don't vote. You don't have the right to complain if you aren't participating and doing your duty of voting.
